U.S. Housing Bill Goes to President’s Desk

In a rare weekend meeting, the U.S. Senate passed the housing
bill
by 72-13 votes. The legislation now awaits the signature of
U.S. President George W. Bush, who could sign it into law as early as

President Bush Calls for Permanent Tax Cuts

President George W. Bush said government tax revenues will increase by
$280 billion if Congress does not make permanent the tax
cuts
introduced earlier in his administration.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Bush said there is “no
question tax cuts provided economic vitality” and called for the cuts to
